Fast flowing.

The river was flowing fast as I crossed the bridge on my walk this morning.

1880's American travelogue.

I am getting low on new images so now for something completely different. In 1883 a book was published in Welsh of a travelogue to America. The reason it was published was to encourage people in Wales to emigrate to America. There are many pictures which I assume were produced by an artist.
Located at the rear of the book are several advertisements regarding travelling to America and where to stay on your arrival. I hope you find them interesting.

St Marcella's church, lower left, against the backdrop of the Clwydian range. Taken from Denbigh castle at lunchtime today...edited.

Denbigh.....St Marcella's Church. 8

Memorial.

Interesting history. I'd not heard of a "Accoucheur",  someone who is present at births!

Memorial plaques.

Miniature Porcelain Boot.

My latest purchase from the charity shop. Heel to toe is approximately 7.7cm.

Denbigh.....St Marcella's Church. 6

There are several of these in the church, they must have a name but no one seems to know what it is. I am told that they were originally plain but during one of the restorations they were painted with vegetable paint.

Further decoration.

Looking to the rear of the church.

Denbigh.....St Marcella's Church. 5

Wardens chest.

This small altar was originally part of St Hilary's church. The church was built beside Denbigh castle in the 1300's but only the tower remains there today.

This bell also came from St Hilary's. It is one of a trio of bells.
