St Clare's Convent, Pantasaph. 6

St Clare's convent chapel. As a consequence of my original digital camera numbering system and the vast amount of images involved, photo's will often be in a random sequence.

These are the only pictures that I was kindly allowed to copy. It was certainly once a beautiful chapel.

A very old shot through a window, the font on the right.

What remained of the roof tiles have been removed. The roof timbers, apart from one small section, still remain in the building today. No longer a Chapel but a private house.

The black and white patterns of tiles around the altar.

The tiles that covered the whole of the church floor.

During the development the building was shortened and all the beautiful tiles ripped up!

St Clare's Convent, Pantasaph. 5

The sign on the door of the waiting room greeting pilgrims. I have hundreds of pic's and several hours of video, unfortunately far too many to post on this blog.

Just come across this, it is a shot of the pilgrims waiting room, taken through a window of the orphanage.

St Clare's Convent, Pantasaph.

Archive shots from 1999 when demolition had just commenced.

Girls boarding school to the left of the chapel.

Coat of arms inside the chapel.

Someone had made their temporary home, bottom left, inside the chapel.

Remains of the stained glass windows.

Bell tower.

Stained glass windows from the outside. The chapel wall and the windows were just smashed up during the demolition.

Remains of chapel windows.

To this day the bell still remains within the tower.

Demolition had begun.
