Dinorwig hydroelectric power station. During the day it is powered by water from the lake at the top of the mountain, this is when demand is high. The water flows into the lake below and at night when demand is low the turbines work in reverse and pump the water back up to the top lake. The power station itself is built into the heart of the mountain.
