Today's walk and edit....Glossop.

When I completed my Royal Air Force apprenticeship in 1972, 93rd entry, I passed through Glossop in my Austin 10, reg DAA 281, on my way to my first posting at RAF Middleton St Gearge, county Durham, 33 squadron Javelin 9 fighter quadron. Today I thought I would take a look at Glossop, unfortunately very dull with a cold shower. Remember, the only guenuine apps in this world are ex RAF apps!

National Memorial Arboretum.

Aerial view.

The approach.

The main reason for the visit. I trained as an apprentice at RAF Locking from 1959 to 1962 when it was known as Number 1 Radio school. I was a member of the 93rd entry and completed my training as an Air Radio Fitter having studied both airborne radar and wireless.

A large and impressive memorial.
