Reservoir falls....won't run on firefox.

This reservoir, also in the Cwmorthin valley, drives a small hydroelectric generator at the bottom of the valley.

The lower left shot shows the original dam. The main shot shows the current dam which was completed about eighteen months ago. Water from here is piped down the valley to run a small turbine next to the main hydroelectric power station. With the amount of water coming off the main lake the overflows are being put to good use.

Having passed this way many times I have only just been informed as to it's function. It is in fact a hydroelectric scheme, the generator is housed way down the valley. The first shot illustrates how the site has been modernised.
