The old track across the viaduct. Way in the distance the now decommissioned nuclear power station.

Nothing like that existed when the track was first laid.

The track to the old tunnel along the viaduct is also blocked by boulders.

I came across this very old pic on the web, it was called the tunnelmess, built for the tunnelers.

   Colour photography wasn't available when the railway was constructed so not sure about this, could have been a painting I suppose.

Too risky to walk through the tunnel, with my luck an engine would come through. It is now necessary for me to climb over the top of the tunnel. On the left is the new railway.

 

Still some rolling mist about.

   

Made it over the top, this is the way ahead.
