From my morning walk today, a section of the town walls taken from the Ystrad road.

A frosty but sunny start for a change.

Walk to the Gold Mine.8

Approaching the mine,

A look back. This was probably a tramway when the mine was being worked.

The entrance to the "Cefn Coch" mine, translates to "Red Ridge".

Inside the entrance. No doubt a fortune in gold has come through here.

The way ahead is barred and like most mines there is plenty of water dripping through the roof.
