Gained plenty of height now.

Plenty of quartz in the rock.

  

Walk to Stwlan dam.....11.

The dam wall. Water from here goes down the valley to power the hydroelectric power station.

 Quartz and maybe some rare Welsh gold.

Walk to Llyn Bowydd and quarry, September 2014......11.

 

Not a normal viewpoint, you can see the line on the rocks which indicates the normal water level.

Due to land being eroded by underground streams, every now and again the land level drops.

  

Only a narrow track around the headland, fortunately the sand is reasonably firm.

A lot of quartz around here, probably means some Welsh gold too!

Following the fence. The ground can be very unsound in places so to be on the safe side I often follow the fence, that's if there is one. 

Walk to Bryn Glas slate mine. 14

Large lump of rock, mostly quartz, probably contains very small traces of Welsh gold!

An abundance of Quartz in the Snowdonia National Park. Gold is also to be found where there is Quartz, so I am told, not discovered any as yet.

Slate wagon and abandoned building.

Hopefully will green up by the summer, doesn't look too healthy.
