Archive shot...waterfall.

These falls are hidden away at Cwm Penmachno. The orange colour in the water is from peat in the soil. HDR edit.

Cwm Penmachno......Spring 2012. 15.

Today our climb up and down the mountain is complete, tomorrow we visit a ruined abbey.

Remains of an old quarry building.

A slate dry stone wall.

Back on level ground.

Trees manage to grow and survive almost anywhere.

Cwm Penmachno......Spring 2012. 12.

Happy Easter holiday and big thanks to all who take the trouble to stop by and look at my pic's, much appreciated.

Two buildings at the entrance to one of the quarry's. I think the architecture may have been based on the old fashioned cash registers LOL

Looking down the incline. They are very steep on this side of the valley.

Piles of waste slate.

Trees at the side of the incline.

What remains of a winding drum building.

Cwm Penmachno......Spring 2012. 11.

When I coma across a skull it is usually from a sheep, this one is different and I don't have a clue as to what animal it came from. Anyone know the answer?

Looking at the discarded slate across the valley.

Standing on the edge of one of the levels.

Served it's purpose.

The sun catching a crevice in the quarry.

Cwm Penmachno......Spring 2012. 10.

An abundance of Quartz in the Snowdonia National Park. Gold is also to be found where there is Quartz, so I am told, not discovered any as yet.

Slate wagon and abandoned building.

Upturned slate wagon. Valuable scrap metal, too heavy to carry. LOL

Hopefully will green up by the summer, doesn't look too healthy.
