Today's edit....slate wagon.

An old quarry slate wagon. Not seen this here before, probably been dragged out of an old mine.

Cwmorthin valley after recent heavy rain......8.

The ruins of the mine managers house, a really large building.

Old mine building.

Further up the side of the valley the river passes under the waste levels and emerges here on the valley floor on it's way to the lake.

The wall is leaning well and the chimney has fallen. However, this shows how stable walls are when they are built from slate, no breeze block wall would lean that far and still be standing. All these buildings are "dry stone" built.

Cwmorthin Valley, North Wales. 10

Our Cwmorthin valley walk is complete.

Time to cross the bridge and make our way back down the mountain.

A small lake we pass on the way down.

I don't know the history but someone spent time making an area of interest here, this bridge was part of it. Water once flowed in the moat and the bridge crossed to a small island, all now left to ruin.

The overflow from the lake makes it's way down the valley.

Next stop, Lakeside Cafe for beans on toast and a cup of tea.
