Today's walk...seeds.

Seed carrying leaves on the Wych Elm tree. When the time is right these fall to the ground and a "normal" looking leaves grow in their place.

 

Today's walk....flowers and Wych Elm.

Purple flowers.

 

Wych Elm tree. An unusual tree and it's quite large. First these leaf like seed pods grow and when the time is right they are shed. "Normal" looking leaves then grow where the seed pods first appeared.

 

Wych Elm Tree.

The Wych Elm tree is starting to drop it's seeds. I've planted a couple to see if they will grow. Now the seeds are starting to drop off the normal leaves are beginning to appear.

 The Wych Elm tree is coming back to life, must be Spring. Taken on my walk today.
