Trip to Llanberis quarries.....3.

Bridge in the Llanberis pass.

Llyn Peris, this is a part of the Dinorwig hydroelectric power station. Water from the lake on the top of the mountain drives the turbines and then flows into this lake. At night when the demand for power is low, the turbines become pumps and the water is pumped back up to the top of the mountain.

Still frosty as the sun hasn't made it round as yet. This is the last flat part before I continue the 2 mile climb up the mountain.

Today's walk...frosty.

Iwas curious to know how the IR edited would differ when there was frost on the ground. This was the answer, I love the soft colours, thought it turned out really nice.

Today's walk....sheltering, sunrise.

Sheltering under the trees from the heavy overnight frost.

Today's sunrise, clouded over now with rain on the way.

Today's walk....sheep.

Sheep and lambs. A dark and frosty start to the day, however, neither the sheep or lambs seem to be bothered by the camera flash. I mentioned this before but it's worth repeating, the eyes of sheep and lambs are made for good night vision and are therefore constructed differently to ours. As a consequence of this, when a camera flash is used it's not red eye but blue eye that results.

Today's walk....duck update,alpacas, cat and frosty start.

When the ducks did their flypast yesterday that was it. They were not there today so have left for pastures new. In total they stayed for 12 days.

Alpacas and a white cat.

Farm buildings on a frosty morning, at least the sun is shinning.

Today's walk.......sheep, lambs and ducks.

Waiting to be fed.

Caught in the morning sun.

These poor ducks had a cold night last night as we had a frost. They have been here for about three days now. I did see them fly in so I suppose it's possible they have been blown off course from somewhere. I would like to get a better pic before they leave. Hope they have found some food.

Denbigh asylum clock tower.

From another angle, taken on my walk today. Slight frost but a gorgeous sunny start, maybe the weather is finally improving.

Snowdrops.

They are lasting well this year, probably because of the cold and damp weather. Slight frost after the rain during the night so a little slippery in places on my walk today.
