Work to be done on the bridge but being supported for the moment. I have known it to be washed away during really heavy periods of rain.

These are the old miners barracks. A restoration programme has been started, the chimney has been supported and some of  walls have been rebuilt.

Bridge over the river. A couple of years ago the river was so high that the bridge was destroyed.

The walls are starting to lean. Considering no mortar was used in the construction, they are lasting well.

Mine entrance, slate mines like tin mines always contain water, however, unlike coal mines gas is not a hazzard.

The weather is just no good enough for walking in the mountains at present so it's back into the archives. These shots are from a walk I did back in April 2006, you will notice an improvement in digital cameras since then.

Leaving the car park I start to head up the valley.

Making my way up the track, looking back and seeing the sun slowly working it's way round to illuminate the valley. The track and banks on either side, are made of waste slate from the mining and quarrying.

What remains of the slate workers barracks, great location in the summer but not so good in the winter.

The sun is slowly starting to work it's way round.

A post, not sure what it represents as it was the only one around.
